The International Neighborhood Service (INS) has launched ‘Field of Hope’ Football Camp for children and youth at Midland Colony in Dimapur, and Thilixu Village in Chümoukedima. INS has joined hands with a team from Brazil to organise the two-month long camp through which it aims to foster sportsmanship, discipline, and resilience among youngsters and to engage them in the world’s most popular sport while instilling vital life skills.

INS informed that the team of experienced coaches and counsellors from Brazil will be actively involved in mentoring the participants for two months, bringing their expertise and passion for football to the forefront. Moreover, this partnership extends beyond borders as the Brazilian team commits to annual visits to continue coaching, while participants will have the opportunity to travel to Brazil for further learning experiences, it said.

The spokesperson for International Neighborhood Service remarked, “This camp represents more than just a sporting event; it’s about empowering our youth, giving them avenues to explore their potential, and instilling values that will shape their futures.”

The football camp is being held simultaneously at the two locations in Dimapur and Chümoukedima and over 100 youngsters have enrolled for the programme.

The ‘Field of Hope’ Football Camp is not merely about honing athletic skills; it’s about fostering a sense of community, belonging, and purpose. Through the universal language of football, participants will learn the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and resilience, qualities essential for success both on and off the field, International Neighborhood Service stated.
