Inter-Club T20 tournament underway at Kiphire

The Kiphire District Cricket Association, under the Nagaland Cricket Association, has begun the Inter-Club T-20 Tournament 2026 at Public Ground, Kiphire.

The tournament started on January 8 and would continue till January 13, bringing cricket clubs from across the district together for a week of exciting matches.

The event marks an important moment for cricket in Kiphire. It aims to build grassroots sports, support young talent, and encourage teamwork and unity among players and communities.

Andrew C Sangtam, Treasurer of the Kiphire District Cricket Association, shared that the tournament is progressing well and the organising team is working tirelessly to ensure each match is conducted smoothly. He added that the competition is not only about winning trophies but also about inspiring local youth to take cricket seriously.

President, Justin Khatomong said the tournament is helping identify promising players who can move on to higher levels of the sport. “This is to encourage our district players and give them a chance to grow and shine,” he stated.

Longtili C Sangtam, the official umpire of Kiphire District Cricket Association encouraged and wished the entire team the best as the play throughout the tournament.  Maintaining fair play and professional match conduct should be the priority, he added.

All officials expressed their appreciation to the supporters, clubs, sponsors, and well-wishers whose cooperation has made the tournament possible.

The Kiphire District Cricket Association has invited everyone to continue cheering for their home teams and enjoy the remaining matches as the contest heats up.
