Inter Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) to Nagaland, led by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi (Freedom Fighters & Rehabilitation Division) Anant Kishore Saran, visited Zunheboto district on 11th September, 2024 for On-The-Spot assessment of the situation on the wake of landslides/flash floods during the monsoon.
Earlier, the team had a briefing with District Administration, District Disaster Management Authority members, Zunheboto Town Council and all concerned departments at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall.
During the meeting, all concerned departments familiarised the central team with PowerPoint presentation to give a proper overview of the current ground situations. Later, the team visited the majorly hit colonies and areas and further had an interaction with affected families/residents and colony/area leaders.
On the second day of the IMCT visit, District Administration from Tuensang, Shamator and Noklak had briefing with the team at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, Zunheboto where, respective DDMAs from each districts highlighted through PowerPoint presentation, appraising the calamities in the wake of the landslides/flash floods during the monsoon, 2024.

The Joint Secretary, MHA (Freedom Fighters & Rehabilitation Division) Anant Kishore Saran, was accompanied by Superintending Engineer, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, Regional Office Central Water Commission, Shillong (Meghalaya), Sarvana Kumar, Superintending Engineer, Ministry of Road, Transport & Highways, Regional Office Guwahati, Adelbert Susngi, Assistant Director, Ministry of Rural Development, New Delhi, Ranjana Saini, Section Officer, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi, Atul Bamnai.
