Interactive Session on “NCC and its Benefits” Engages Students at Patkai Christian College

Dimapur: Students and cadets to actively participate in the NCC program as it offers many benefits in terms of personal growth and skill development.

Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) hosted an engaging interactive session on “NCC and its Benefits” at the Bundrock Chapel cum Auditorium on July 28, 2023.

Guest Speaker Colonel Manjeet Katoch, CO, 1 Nagaland Girls Battalion NCC, Kohima, provided valuable insights into the history of NCC and shared his experiences. He emphasized the vision, aims, and objectives of NCC, shedding light on the motto and various wings within the organization, namely the Air wing, Army wing, and Navy wing.

Colonel Katoch highlighted the numerous camps and opportunities offered by NCC, with special focus on the CATC camp, which is a prerequisite for appearing in the Certificate Exams of NCC. Cadets can pursue three certificate exams, namely A, B, and C certificates, with each requiring specific camp attendance and tenure in NCC.

During the interactive session, Colonel Katoch encouraged the students and cadets to actively participate in the NCC program, highlighting the many benefits it offers in terms of personal growth and skill development.

The event, chaired by SUO Kokoni Sani Basena, commenced with a warm welcome speech from SUO Puloli Shohe. A special performance by the Army wing 2nd-year students accompanied by a captivating slideshow further enriched the program. In addition, two cadets – Cdt Nounengunuo Whuorie and Ctd Mezhusieni Peseyie from the Army wings – shared their personal experiences of being part of NCC, inspiring their peers.

The interactive session concluded on a high note with the NCC anthem song, fostering a sense of pride and camaraderie among the attendees.
