International Conference on Chemistry in Multidisciplinary Research concludes at NU

The valedictory session of the International Conference on Chemistry in Multidisciplinary Research (ICCMR-2026) was held on February 20, 2026 at Lumami, bringing down the curtain on the two-day conference organized by the Department of Chemistry, Nagaland University.

According to a press release, the session was chaired by Prof. Santosh K. Singh, Dean, School of Sciences while the Conference Report was presented by Prof. Ambrish Singh, Head of the Department of Chemistry and Convenor of ICCMR-2026. In his report, he highlighted the key sessions, academic discussions, and active participation that made the conference meaningful and impactful. He also felicitated the distinguished guests with traditional waistcoats and souvenirs as a gesture of appreciation.

The prize distribution ceremony recognized outstanding academic contributions. The award for Best Oral Presentation was presented by the Chief Guest, Shri Ajit Kumar Verma, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung. The Best Poster Presentation award was conferred by the Guest of Honor, Colonel Bhanoo Pathak, Commanding Officer of the Assam Rifles.

In a valedictory message, Prof. Santosh K. Singh expressed heartfelt gratitude to all speakers for their insightful presentations. He also acknowledged the tireless efforts of the students, research scholars, and organizing team whose dedication ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the conference.

Addressing the gathering, Colonel Bhanoo Pathak shared reflections from his academic journey and military career. He emphasized the importance of fundamental truths and the life lessons he learned through his experiences. Inspiring the research scholars, faculty members, and students, he encouraged them to pursue their ambitions with determination and to strive for greater heights.

Ajit Kumar Verma spoke about the powerful role of chemistry, particularly in relation to medical science. He highlighted how chemistry holds immense potential—both constructive and destructive—and stressed the responsibility that comes with such knowledge. He encouraged students and research scholars to collaborate actively, explore innovative research avenues, and contribute meaningfully to scientific advancement. He also sincerely appreciated the department, faculty members, research scholars, and students for organizing such a significant academic event.

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Nurul Alam Choudhury, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, speakers, participants, and organizing committee for their valuable contributions, bringing ICCMR-2026 to a successful and memorable close.
