Following an explosion near the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi on Tuesday evening, the Government of Israel has issued a Travel Advisory to India and in particular the Capital.
According to PTI, Israeli embassy spokesperson Guy Nir said, “We can confirm that around 5:48 pm, there was a blast in close proximity to the embassy. Delhi Police and the security team are still investigating the situation.” No injury or fatality has been reported from the incident. The Embassy of Israel is in the Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave in New Delhi.
The Advisory issued by National Security Council says that the “bomb” that exploded is possibly “an attack”.
Israeli nationals have been asked to
– Try to avoid going to crowded places (malls, markets) and places identified as being used by Western/Jewish and Israeli elements
– Maintain increased vigilance in public places (including restaurants, hotels, bars, etc.)
– to avoid externalizing Israeli symbols
– Avoid participating in events with many participants that are not secure
– Avoid posting trip details on social networks and posting photos and visit details before the trip and in real time
