PHED Minister Jacob Zhimomi, inaugurated the NLCPR Project, providing water supply by gravity, in Aboi, Mon on 8 December.

The Minister unveiled the plague and inaugurated the Non-Lapsable Central Pool Resources (NLCPR) funded by the Ministry of DoNER, Government of India, for Aboi HQ and Longching HQ in Mon.

Zhimomi said Mon was fortunate to receive the project. Reminding that water is essential for daily life, he said the people of Aboi and Longching will save valuable time through the project, and they don’t have to fetch water from the hills.

He further said Nagas need to be united for prosperity and urged the gathering to maintain unity for the greater good of the state.

The guest of honour, Eshak Konyak, MLA, 47 A/C, Aboi expressed appreciation to the PHE Department and the State Government for bringing the project to Aboi, Mon.

The technical report was presented by Chief Engineer & HOD, PHED, Repangyanba Longkumer. He informed that the estimated cost was Rs 965.98 Lakh and was funded by the Ministry of DoNER, Government of India and the State Government (90:10). It was sanctioned on 14 December 2017 while the work started on 29th January 2017 and the commissioning date was 8 December 2022.

Short speeches were delivered by the president of KU, Aboi unit, Shahang Konyak and the principal secretary of PHED, E Mhonbemo Patton.

ADC Aboi, Phuselu, NCS in his welcome address appreciated the work done for fulfilling the desire and needs of the public of Aboi and Longching HQ. He further urged the gathering to maintain the asset.

The programme was chaired by the superintending engineer of PHED, Dimapur Circle, Dimapur, Gwatilo Tep. The vote of thanks was delivered by the executive engineer of PHED Mon, Lutho Katiry.

Rev Yeanphong, pastor of Town Baptist Church, Aboi, pronounced the dedicatory prayer while a special number was presented by Kheyn Konyak.
