The Assam Rifles, on Wednesday, organised a solemn wreath laying ceremony at the Unit War Memorial at Jalukie, Peren to remember and honour its fallen Braveheart Capt (Late) Anirban Das who in the richest tradition of the force had made supreme sacrifice for the nation in the line of duty on 26 April 2003 in Jalenphai village of Churachandpur district, Manipur while fighting insurgents and saving lives of his fellow troops.
The Assam Rifles informed that the event was attended by all ranks of the Jalukie Battalion wherein the attendees were briefed on how the fallen hero Capt (Late) Anirban Das displayed conspicuous gallantry, indomitable resolve, grit, determination and selflessness beyond the call of duty and made the supreme sacrifice in the true tradition of the force.
The Battalion also reached out to the next of kin of the Braveheart and conveyed gratitude and respect.
