Jalukie Battalion AR conducts various programmes in Peren

With an aim to promote the Prime Minister’s initiative of “Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan”, the Jalukie Battalion Assam Rifles (AR) under the aegis of IGAR (North) conducted a lecture on ‘Importance of Education’ at Tening village in Peren district on 16 March.

The aim of the lecture was to emphasise the significance of education in the development of individuals in society, an update from AR stated.

The speaker highlighted the importance of education in acquiring knowledge, skills and values that are essential for personal and social growth and further encouraged the students to pursue education as a means of realising their dreams and aspiration.

The lecture also focused on the challenges that students face in accessing education, particularly in remote and underdeveloped areas.

Meanwhile, under AR Civic Action Project, the battalion facilitated 15 mini tablets to Government Primary School in Upper Jalukie village on 14 March with an aim to promote computer education under ‘Sab Padhe, Sab Badhe’ scheme of the central government.

The teachers and students were briefed and demonstrated on the basic know-how and usage of the equipment for various educational purposes and how they can be aptly used for day-to-day needs.

The students were also briefed on the importance of information technology in various jobs and its application for ease of work. A total of 13 teachers and 36 students attended the event.

The principal, school authority, chairman, village council and villagers acknowledged and expressed gratitude to AR for their support.
