A significant stride towards environmental sustainability took place as the Jalukie Town Council unveiled biodegradable carry bags and products at the Women’s Welfare Hall in Jalukie Town. The event, held on August 31, 2023, marked a pivotal moment in the town’s journey towards reducing plastic waste, DIPR stated.

As the special guest, Vineet Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Peren, applauded the local entrepreneurs’ dedication to developing biodegradable alternatives to conventional plastic bags. He emphasized the importance of these eco-friendly options and encouraged businesses to collaborate with the Town Council in fostering a cleaner and greener future.

EAC Jalukie, Sizin Renttah, presided over the event, setting the tone for a momentous occasion. The welcome speech and keynote address were delivered by T.L. Kiusumong Tikhir, ADC & Administrator of Jalukie Town Council. Shedding light on the benefits of biodegradable products, Talunibo and Nukuzo, the Proprietor of Warehouse 103, conducted an enlightening presentation.
