The Kohima Village Youth Organisation (KVYO) held a jersey launching programme for the forthcoming 24th NSF Trophy 2024 at KVYO Conference Hall, Ziekezou today.
Speaking at the programme, Mhasimhalie M. Yhome, President, Kohima District Football Association, emphasised the critical role of discipline and praised the players for their dedication in the sports. He encouraged them to view this opportunity as a key first step in their journey to playing at higher levels.
Yhome underscored that teamwork and moral support are essential to the team’s success and reminded the players to respect their jerseys, viewing them as symbols of hard work and commitment. He urged them to value the sacrifices made by their parents as well as the support from the village and various stakeholders, recognizing them as integral parts to their achievements.
Further, the KDFA President congratulated the players on their selection to represent the Village at various competitive levels.
Medozhazo Rutsa, President, KVYO, in his address, said the current team will represent the Kohima Village in various levels and competitions till 2026. Rutsa encouraged the players to stay motivated, give their 100% in the game and bring laurels to the Village. He also thanked the Sports Development Committee for their commitment and dedication in nurturing the talents in preparation for the NSF Martyrs Trophy and future tournaments.
The 24th NSF Martyrs Trophy is slated to begin on 14th September at IG Stadium. The KVYO team will be playing their first game on the 17th of September against Asufii Christian Institute.
