A delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) comprising senior representative Arima, additional chief development specialist Aditi Puri, and additional lead project officer Mahua Mukherjee visited Nagaland from July 7-9 to review the progress of the project for the establishment of the Medical College Hospital at Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (NIMSR) Kohima.
The project is being implemented by the Department of Health and Family Welfare (HFW), Nagaland with financial assistance under the Official Development Assistance (ODA) Loan Agreement No. ID-P322, signed between JICA and the Government of India on February 20, 2024.

During the visit, the JICA team held detailed discussions with officials from the HFW department. Representatives from the Project Management Consultant (PMC) were also present at the meeting. The delegation visited the proposed project construction site at NIMSR Kohima and reviewed preparatory activities for implementation, as construction work is yet to be initiated.
