The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Chukitong Alumni Association under Wokha District on Tuesday, November 7 initiated a cleanliness drive at Tokhü Emong venue, Wokha Local ground after the formal programme culminated.

More than 50 alumni took part in the cleanliness drive to clean the Tokhu Emong Venue.The cleanliness drive was conducted with a vision to motivate and inspire the youths in the district to keep the surroundings clean.

The JNV Chukitong Alumni Association established in the year 2011, was formed with the mission to create a network of alumni in fostering a spirit of mutual help and good will among the members and collectively contribute for a better society.

The members informed that they are committed to uphold the values of academic excellence, social responsibility and camaraderie that the alma mater instilled in them. The Association’s activities include organizing general alumni meet; organizing skill based learning activities, imparting career guidance, counseling and organizing medical camp and organizing clean environment awareness programme and philanthropy activities in Wokha District.

By giving back to the community they are hopeful that this association will be a beacon of inspiration, motivation and service to the society, stated by its president T. Zuchanthung Lotha.
