The Jotsoma Youth Organisation (JYO) has suspended its ongoing agitation over the appointment of the Bus Conductor of Kohima Science College (A), Jotsoma in view of the assurance given by the Minister, Higher Education & Tourism and in honour of the request by MLA 8 Western Angami Constituency and Minister of Horticulture & Women Resource Development.

The JYO had called for closure of the College from 9:00 pm on 7th March 2025 in protest of the appointment made by the Department.

In a press release, the JYO stated that the Minister of the Department has assured to cancel the previous appointment and appoint the candidate nominated by the Jotsoma Village Council made to the MLA 8 WA Constituency and Minister of Horticulture & Women Resource Development.

The Organisation conveyed its appreciation to the Principal, Teaching Faculties, Staff and students of Kohima Science College (A), Jotsoma “for cooperating with JYO while it agitated against the injustice meted to the village of Jotsoma.”

The JYO also hoped that the authorities will honour the Minister’s commitment in order to maintain a congenial academic atmosphere within the College in days to come.
