Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Jagat Prakash Nadda assured that the BJP-led NDA will fully pursue for a solution to the ongoing Naga political issue once Narendra Modi become the Prime Minister for the third straight term and work towards bringing a permanent peace in the state.
The BJP national president JP Nadda addressing a rally today in support of PDA consensus candidate Dr Chumben Murry, here at Agri Expo, Chümoukedima said, “It is known that the Framework Agreement was signed on August 3, 2015 and November 2017 talks began on the Agreed Position. I want to assure everyone that after Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister for the third term, then we will act real time to pursue matters related to the Accord and complete everything as required. We will fully work towards bringing permanent peace.”

JP Nadda slammed the Congress party for ignoring the sentiments of Northeast as well as for failing to bring the desired development in the region especially in Nagaland.
The BJP chief underlined that Congress had strictly followed the policy of “Get the Votes, and Forget Them,” adding that, Congress had failed to utilize the opportunities the party got during its regime. “Congress got the opportunity to rule for a long period, but they never respected the time given to them, they never respected the opportunity given to them. That’s why because they did not give importance to the time, development and prosperity stopped. Welfare of the people was stalled during the Congress rule, said Nadda.
Nadda, said this policy was there for a long time which is why it is fighting for a seat in Delhi when it has no Legislator in the Nagaland State Assembly in Kohima.
Nadda claimed that the picture has changed under the leaderships of PM Modi, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Ministers Yanthungo Patton and TR Zeliang. “Modi Ji has changed the culture of politics. Modi Ji has changed the definition of politics. Modi Ji has changed the style of politics. Modi Ji has changed the approach of politics”, he stated.
JP Nadda also said that while it was the time of “ignorance” under the Congress regime, today, the BJP’s policy of decisiveness, doorstep delivery and development.
Earlier, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio appreciated the BJP for extending partnership to minority parties and stated that it “exhibits secularism and inclusive approach” of the national party and its respect for regional identity. He said that it is a “special privilege” that the BJP is supporting the NDPP candidate in Nagaland and NPF candidate in Manipur.
Post rally, JP Nadda had a meeting with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, NDPP President Chingwang Konyak, NDPP senior leaders and Minister’s, which was followed by another meeting with the BJP Party leaders led by state President Benjamin Yepthomi at Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima.
