Justice Sanjiv Khanna sworn in as 51st Chief Justice of India

New Delhi: Justice Khanna’s term as CJI till 13 May 2025

Justice Sanjiv Khanna was sworn in as the 51st Chief Justice of India on 11th November 2024 in a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi.

President of India, Droupadi Murmu, administered the oath at the swearing in ceremony.

Justice Khanna succeeds the 50th Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud who demitted the Office on 10th November 2024 on attaining the age of 65.

Justice Sanjiv Khanna will have a nearly seven-month term till 13 May 2025.
