The newly elected members of Niuland Town Council have elected Kakheka Zhimomi as the Chairman of Niuland Town Council while Visheli Zhimo has been elected as Vice Chairman, DIPR has informed.

The Deputy Commissioner, Niuland, Sarah S. Jamir administered the oath to the newly elected Town Council Members on 4th July 2024 at DC’s Conference Hall, Niuland.

In the recent concluded ULB election to the Nuiland Town Council, out of nine wards, the BJP won six and independent candidate won three seats.

The members of the council are:

Ward 1- Visheli Zhimo (BJP) uncontested;

Ward 2- V Samuel Holo (BJP) uncontested;

Ward 3- Ikhadu Zhimomi (BJP);

Ward 4- Holika H Kiba (IND);

Ward 5- Kakuto V Yeptho (IND);

ward 6- Tokishe Zhimo (IND);

Ward 7- Vikheli Chishi (BJP);

Ward 8- V Shihoto Zhimo (BJP);

Ward 9- Kakheka Zhimomi (BJP) uncontested.
