Kiphire District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) organized a legal awareness program at GB’s Conference Hall, Pungro Town on 8 July 2023. The aim of the programme is to spread awareness about legal rights among the masses which can make people empowered to demand accountability, justice, and effective remedies at all levels.

Speaking on the occasion, EAC Pungro, Yitachu Thur highlighted the importance of knowing one’s own legal rights. A short speech was delivered by Makezho, Executive Chairman, YTC, who appreciated the organizers for conducting the program.

Phuleto Yeptho, CJM cum secretary KDLSA spoke on the role of the Legal Services Authority; Right to Education was addressed by Bendangwati, R/Lawyer KDLSA; National Food Security Act was delivered by Michael Aye, APP, Kiphire; a topic on Health and Family Welfare schemes was presented by Lizila P/lawyer KDLSA, PMMVY; Old Age Pension Scheme was delivered by Tsasela, PLV KDLSA.

The programme was chaired by Longso, PLV Pungro while a vote of thanks was delivered by Pentsumong, PLV Pungro.
