The 54th edition of the Angami Sports Association Wrestling Meet concluded with Kezhaseluo-o Peinyü of Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA), emerging as the overall champion, while Menuokhriezo Metha clinched the title in the inaugural U-15 Wrestling Meet 2026.
In a keenly contested senior category, Kezhaseluo-o Peinyü ( NASA) secured the championship title, followed by Neithongulie Kuotsu of Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA), in second place. Menuosetuo Yiese (NASA), finished third, while Thejavizo Merhieso (NASA), placed fourth.
The ASA champion was awarded a total cash prize of ₹2.60 lakh along with a plot of land measuring 10,000 sq. ft. at Chümoukedima, sponsored by Tepuleho Pusa and family of Viswema Village. The second, third and fourth positions received cash awards of ₹1.80 lakh, ₹1.40 lakh and ₹1 lakh respectively.
In the first-ever U-15 Wrestling Meet held alongside the main event, Menuokhriezo Metha (NASA), claimed the championship with a cash prize of ₹30,000. Vimethazo Zhale (NASA), secured second place with ₹20,000, while Vimezeto Zinyü (WAYO), and Zayievi Kikhi (SASA), finished third and fourth, receiving ₹15,000 and ₹10,000 respectively.

All quarter-finalists for senior category were also awarded ₹20,000 each in recognition of their performance.
The twin events showcased the depth of traditional wrestling talent across Angami villages and marked a significant step toward nurturing young athletes through structured grassroots competition.
