The Thenyizumi Kezonuomi Thenu Kehou programme was held at local ground in Thenyizu, Phek District on Tuesday. Zhothisa Dawhuo, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary for Women Resources Development, graced the occasion as the guest speaker.
In his address, Dawhuo urged the clan members to strengthen coordination and cultivate affection towards one another in order to progress as a community. He said that love is the foundation of peaceful coexistence and development within the clan, adding that without love and affection, conflicts and divisions are inevitable.
According to him, love enables individuals to resist anger, nurture affection, and transform negative attitudes into positive actions.
He called upon the members to make love and affection a shared commitment, stressing that true unity can only be achieved when people consciously choose to care for and support one another.
“Without love, we will clash among ourselves,” he said, adding that everyone has a role to play, even through small contributions, in strengthening the clan.
Dawhuo further urged the gathering to grow together in love, help one another, and work collectively for the overall development of the clan. He also emphasized the importance of good character and habits, stating that the clan’s good name and reputation should be reflected wherever its members go.
Encouraging the community to spread love in both words and action, he said genuine affection and mutual support are essential for unity, progress, and the continued growth of the Kezonuo clan.
Turning to education, Dawhuo advised students to give their best in their studies, reminding them that parents have already made significant sacrifices for their children’s education. He cautioned against laziness, stating that hard work is always rewarded in the end, and encouraged students to complete their education so that their parents could rest with pride in their achievements.

He also pointed out that the village lacks entrepreneurs and business-minded individuals, and urged the youth to think beyond salaried employment.
With the national highway now passing through the village, he said new opportunities for earning livelihoods are visible, but stressed the need to learn business skills and make use of available opportunities.
He added that there are many ways to earn a livelihood if people are willing to learn, work hard, and support one another for the collective growth of the clan and the village.
The programme was chaired by Besuhu Dawhuo, while the invocation was pronounced by C. Kroso Kezo, Pastor, TBC. Remarks on behalf of the Kezonuo clan were delivered by Nechuyi Dawhuo, followed by a brief history presented by Cusazo Dawhuo. Senior citizens and outstanding achievers were also recognised during the programme.
