The inaugural ceremony for the Khelo India Centre was held on 11 November at Noklak Council Hall in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Noklak, Hiazu Meru.
The DC highlighted the qualities a sportsperson should possess such as leadership skills, risk-taking and analytical thinking.
He urged the students to spend their time engaging in healthy sports activities while prioritizing their studies and also be wise in choosing a companion.

Exemplified by the likes of Olympian, Chekrovolu Swuro who brought laurels to the state, Meru stated that one can become a good sportsman through dedication.
Pointing out that Khiamniungans are skilled in crossbow shooting, the DC urged the students to develop an interest in archery and other sports disciplines.
Archery Coach, Songmao while mentioning that Noklak has been given probation of four years to run the Archery Centre, encouraged the students to take great interest and to continue taking this sport to a greater height.
Khiamniungan Sports Council, Executive Chairman, P L Shingnya spoke on choosing the right sports based on one’s skill.
Noklak has potential as witnessed by the fact that eight sportspersons from Noklak have been selected to represent Nagaland at the NorthEast Olympic games at Meghalaya, he said.
The program was chaired by Tsutin, and Invocation was pronounced by Pastor Langshen, Baptist Church Thang. Greetings were delivered by Shiambai, AHM Incharge, GHS Noklak Village. Themshao and Muchum performed a special number and a vote of thanks was delivered by Ruth.
The program concluded with the National Anthem.
