The Khiamniungan Sports Council (KSC) held its 9th General Session at the Tourist Lodge, Nokyan B, on June 14, 2025, under the theme, “Unity and Sportsmanship”. The event gathered community leaders, youth, and sports enthusiasts to reflect on the progress made over the past nine years.
Deputy Commissioner, Noklak, P Mono Khiamniungan, NCS, in his address highlighted how sports help shape leadership, discipline, and good character. Reflecting on the past, he noted the significant changes since the 1980s and encouraged everyone to contribute in terms of ideas, financial support, or active participation to help aspiring athletes.
He assured the gathering that the district administration is always ready to support community initiatives and even shared a vision of pursuing an international-standard stadium in the future. He also urged former leaders to continue guiding the union even after their official terms end.
KSC President, T Musho Lam in his presidential address marked the council’s 9th anniversary by honoring the efforts of past leaders. He shared that despite limited resources, Khiamniungan athletes are now competing at higher levels, including national and international platforms.
Lam reported the formation of 11 affiliated sports associations under KSC and organised AIFF D License Football coaching course at IG Stadium Kohima. A total of 24 candidates received the D License certificates from the district —the highest in Nagaland. He called on the community to continue supporting youth and to invest in better sports infrastructure.

President, Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC), Ngon noted that many local talents were lost in the past due to a lack of leadership. However, he credited KSC’s formation with bringing positive change. “Today, we are discovering new talents and competing in various fields,” he said, encouraging continued leadership and unity to guide the community forward.
Executive Chairman of KSC, PL Shingnya led the resolution approval, while the Nominating Committee introduced the new executive team for the 2025–2028 tenure. Revd Hempao Lam, Executive Secretary of KBCA, offered a prayer of dedication for the newly elected.
T Musho Lam has been re-elected as the President of the Khiamniungan Sports Council (KSC). Serving as both the outgoing and incoming president, Lam reflected on the council’s past efforts and challenges, while expressing optimism for the future.
The event reinforced KSC’s continued commitment to empowering youth through sports and building a stronger, united community.
