The Kiphire District Cricket Association hosted a cricket match on the 26th September, 2024 whereby the President Justin Khatomong T, expressed his joy and excitement over the days’ event of thrilling matches that followed. He conveyed his joy to witness young, emerging players showcasing their talent for the district.
Khatomong extended his gratitude to the Nagaland Cricket Association for their continuous support, expressing hope for the creation of more opportunities for youth development in the district. He also emphasised the importance of focusing on sports as a profession, urging the younger generation to view sports beyond casual play.
Despite an unforeseen delay due to adverse weather condition, the matches proved to be exhilarating. Two players made their mark as Chunmon of DC XI achieved a hat-trick and was named Man of the Match, additionally, Rajan of Saramati Nexus Club was also awarded Man of the Match for his half-century knock of 53 in another match.
