The first ever inter-School cricket tournament (under 16 Boys) in Kiphire kicked off today at the public ground Kiphire town. The tournament will being back organised by the Kiphire District Cricket Association.
Sulangthung Khenchug (NCS) SDO Civil Kiphire Hq graced the occasion as the Special Guest.
Khenchug lauded the KDCA for initiating such kind of tournament for youngsters who are at the very prime age to be shaped and moulded in their field of interest.
Cricket being the most loved sport around the globe especially in India, it is the most honoured and respected sport of the country, said the Special Guest.
“Therefore, it is vital to educate and inspire youngsters to its fabric of experience,” encouraged the Special Guest urging all the participants from different schools to give their best not just to win but to learn, to discipline, to cooperate, and to build oneself holistically.
Altogether 8 schools are participating in the tournament which will conclude on May 8, as the final match will be fixed between the last two teams.
The inaugural programme was lead by Hopila Sangtam as compere, invocation from Chopongkyu Anar, Pastor KTBL, and a welcome address from Convenor KDCA short speech by Hd GB Kiphire & all private school association Kiphire.
The benediction was pronounced by Bhim Sapkota, Pastor Nepali Baptist Church Kiphire.
