Kiphire: DEO highlights challenges in releasing grant in aid for school due to limited fund allocation

The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting took place at the DC Conference Hall in Kiphire today. The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) D. Robin, NCS chaired the meeting in the absence of the DPDB chairman.

The meeting discussed proposals for the Junior Engineers (JE) of the Power Department and Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) for Seyochung Town. The department representatives informed that they had submitted requests to the state government, but were yet to receive a positive response.

It also reviewed on the construction of road connectivity to Government Middle School, PHED, Kiphire Town.

Further, the house discussed the grant-in-aid for the classroom extension of El Beth High School, Kiphire, where the District Education Officer (DEO) explained that the Department was facing challenges due to limited fund allocation from the government, with multiple schools in the district vying for the benefits.

The District Agriculture Officer and District Horticulture Officer presented progress reports on their activities through a PowerPoint presentation, highlighting their achievements and ongoing initiatives.
