Kiphire DPDB deliberates on need for State Disaster Response Force Personnel in district

Kiphire: Certificates, toolkit distributed to candidates trained on ‘bamboo handicraft’ under Aspirational District Programme

The monthly DPDB meeting of Kiphire has discussed various issues in the meeting held on 15th May 2024. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of DC Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer NCS, DIPR has informed.

During the meeting, the house deliberated on the need for State Disaster Response Force Personnel in the district for which the members decided to take the matter to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) for approval. Kiphire has been hit hard by the extreme weather conditions in the recent months.

Also at the meeting, certificates and toolkit were distributed to the candidates who were successfully trained on ‘bamboo handicraft’ under the Aspirational District Programme. DC Longkumer encouraged the beneficiaries to use their innovations to create items essential for daily use and also to generate own income for self-sufficiency.

Principal, Zisaji Presidency College highlighted on the internship program where students are attached to various departments and offices to understand the way the departments function. In this regard, the board agreed to sign MOU with the college after deliberating at length.

Later, the DC urged the Heads of Offices in the District to assist the students in all possible ways. The SP, Kiphire emphasized the need to educate the students to become law abiding citizens during the internship.

Further, all Heads of Department under Kiphire were reminded to submit the latest Department Profile to the DPO (Planning) on or before 5th of June 2024.

ADC, Robin informed all the heads of offices to be aware and prepared for the upcoming elections to the Urban Local Bodies 2024 in the district.

Two new members, Dr. R. Wapang Imchen CMO, Kiphire and Aosanen Technical Assistant (Skill Development and Entrepreneurship) were welcome and introduced in the meeting.

Earlier, reviewing the last meeting minutes, the members discussed on upgradation of Yangphi Govt. High School to Govt. Higher Secondary School where the concerned department has been directed to relocate the area, as the present location is not feasible to raise additional infrastructures for upgradation. While the proposal for construction of security fencing around the office of Chief Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Service was differed to the next meeting.
