The Kiphire District Planning & Development Board meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer on October 15, at DPDB Conference Hall Kiphire.
DC extended a warm welcome to all the Board Members present and expressed his appreciation for the cooperation towards the district’s development activities. Reviewing the previous meeting minutes, the DC emphasized on the implementation of PM Gati Shakti Portal and reminded the concerned departments to ensure timely coordination for holistic infrastructure and connectivity development in Kiphire.
While discussing the agendas of the day, the board decided to organise a Tour Programme to Khongsa Block in the month of November right after the DPDB meeting. The initiative is part of the Board’s ongoing efforts to monitor developmental activities and enhance grassroots level engagement within the district. The Tour will visit Key project sites, hold interaction with local leaders and communities, and oversee the ongoing assessment of Government schemes and developmental initiatives implemented in the region. Officials from various departments are expected to be part of the delegation.
The visit aims to strengthen coordination between the district administrations and block level functionaries, and to ensure that public services are being effectively delivered to the people of Khongsa Block. In this connection, the board also entrusted the District Administration, Medical, Public Works Department, Agri. & Allied department and Social Welfare Department for necessary logistic arrangements.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Kiphire, Chinese Chakesang, IPS, informed the Board about the circulation of the adulterated medicines and pharmacies operating without valid licenses in the District. Acknowledging the serious public health concern, the board decided to conduct a special Drive to check adulterated medicines and unlicensed pharmacies in Kiphire. In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, and Drugs Inspector from CMO & MS office were entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the Special Drive in an effective manner. SP Kiphire also informed the board about the ongoing police recruitment process and shared the status of applications received as of 14th October 2025 in the district.

Principal, Zisaji Presidency College Kiphire, Dr. Phyobenthung informed the board about the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 (District Round) programme to be hosted by the College on 4th October 2025 for Kiphire District. He also elaborated on the program, eligibility criteria and requested the members for more participation at the program. He also requested District Education Officer (DEO) Kiphire to disseminate the information at Higher Secondary School level.
The DC also informed all concerned departments dealing with the Aspirational District Programme (ADP) to submit their report to the District Administration for timely processing.
A comprehensive PowerPoint presentation was delivered by DFO (Forest), Kiphire, Sundeep Rajgotra and the Water Resources Department, En. Dichusie.
EAC (Development) Kiphire, Takatemjen Pongen and DPO Kiphire, P. Lipichum Sangtam also spoke in the meeting. The board also entrusted the AUDO (Urban Development) and DCO (Art & Culture) to present their department’s activities in the next meeting.
