Kiphire Police is actively undertaking various initiatives to tackle the issue of drug abuse in the district, the Office of the Superintendent of Police Kiphire informed in a press statement.
As a result, the police force confiscated approximately 1500 grams of suspected ganja from an individual in Kiphire town on 1 July 2023 while acting on information received from a concerned citizen. It informed that a case has been registered for investigation under Kiphire PS Case No. 20/23, Section 22(c) of the NDPS Act.

SP K Swarnambika, IPS extended her sincere appreciation to the public for their cooperation in the fight against drugs, recognizing their noble intention to maintain a clean society. She also stated that the informant will be appropriately rewarded and emphasized that such type of community support deserve applause, as the “War against drugs” is a collective responsibility of society as a whole.
Additionally, Kiphire Police informed the public that any information leading to the recovery of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances would be rewarded accordingly, with the source’s identity kept confidential.
It encouraged individuals to contact the following mobile numbers: Nodal Officer, Anti Narcotic Task Force and Additional SP, Kiphire (6009308147) and SDPO Kiphire (6009308148) if they have any specific information.

Menawhile, short films on drug addiction were screened for the personnel of DEF Kiphire at the SP Office Conference Hall on Monday. During the screening, SP Kiphire emphasized that the process of cleansing society should begin at the individual level, and by educating police personnel, they can contribute to raising awareness within the broader community.
