A thanksgiving programme for the construction of the new bypass road from Tuensang road to Zisaji College was held on 25 January in Kiphire.
The construction of the new bypass road that stretches a distance of one and a half km is on its way to be done, with the remaining stretch to be completed in the coming few months.
The bypass road had been a long-cherished aim of concerned leaders in Kiphire, which led them along with the citizens to take the initiative in making the dream a reality.
Even after the approval of road construction under DBDP at district administration few years back the government still didn’t sanction any amount to the concern parties for the construction of bypass road therefore, the concern leaders and citizens took the initiative in their own hand in making this a reality together.
In the thanksgiving programme, Bitsakyu president Thsingmüjang Kiphire Jila lauded the land owners and all those who had come together to work towards the construction of the bypass road.
Island Peace Yabgtsaba, president of Singrip Yangdong Suro Ashimükhong (SYSA), said: “If we had waited on the government for this development, this could never have come to reality”.

He stated that the heart, concern and cooperation of the people towards the road project was a great leap for the people and students of Zisaji College, especially for those residing in the Tuensang road colony, as the new road would ease the struggle of walking through the long stretch of footpath and help save time and energy.
Setsao, the chairman of Resthouse ward, thanked all the initiators of the bypass road on behalf of the ward and expressed his hopes that the government would bring blacktopping on the road in later years to improve the condition.
On behalf of the landowners, R Tsitongse, GB, thanked the JCB driver and operator for the construction of the bypass road. He stated that the stretch constructed was a general public road and not for the colony alone.

The GB further thanked Setsathong, retired director (RD), Langkok village, for the contribution of his JCB machinery and requested the gathering to remember Setsathong and his family in gratitude and prayers.
The programme was chaired by C Achum who thanked the land owners, Singrip village citizens leaders, KTBL and village elders for coming together and making the initiative a success.
The invocation was pronounced by Ariba from New Life Prayer Center and the benediction by Atongba Mongzar, associate pastor of Sangtam Baptist Fellowship (East Zone).
