The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C IAS, has released a statement addressing concerns surrounding the issuance and management of Inner Line Permits (ILP). This clarification comes in response to an order from the Commissioner’s office in Nagaland.

According to the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation of 1873, the authority for issuing, enforcing, and regulating ILPs lies solely with the District Administration. Any actions or dealings that deviate from this regulation will be considered illegal.
