HSLC Examination Toppers 2023 from Government High Schools under Kohima District were felicitated at during the Kohima District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) monthly meeting held on Thursday at DPDB Conference Hall, DIPR informed.
During the felicitation programme, Minister for Women Resources Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse gave away the certificate and cash award of Rs 20,000 to Rahul Roy, Top 1 amongst the Government High Schools with 93.33% (Aggregate Mark) from Rüzhükhrie Govt Hr Sec School, Kohima.
While receiving the award, Rahul Roy thanked the District Administration and DPDB members for recognizing his efforts. He said that it was a huge encouragement for him to give more effort in his higher studies. Roy also thanked his teachers, mentors, and his parents for their untiring support.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Kohima District, Shanavas C, IAS, welcomed the new members of the board.
In the meeting, the registration of Mission Society, Periezie Colony, Kohima, Society for Soul Harvest for Christ Ministry, Daklane Kohima, and Lacheni Society, Kenuozou Colony, Kohima was discussed, and the members agreed to forward the first two societies to the government after thorough verification by the DPDB.
The meeting also took up the matter of the Upgradation of GMS Bayavü to GHS, GMS Midlane to GHS, and the upgradation of Beanstalk School, D. Block Kohima up to Class-VIII (Private), and the members decided to take up the issue for necessary action after further verification of the schools.
PowerPoint presentation of departmental activities was given by District Project Officer, Land Resources Department, Menuosietuo Tseikha.
The meeting also deliberated on the issue of cleanliness and proper dumping of garbage where DC requested all the Heads of offices not to use plastic items and create awareness to the general public of its harm.
On the inter-school athletic meet scheduled on 20th-21st July 2023, an initiative of the School Education Department under “Beti Bachao, Beti Bashao” program, DC asked the members to create awareness and encourage school children to participate in the event.
Superintendent of Police Kohima, Imnalensa, IPS while highlighting the Traffic congestion and the measures taken by the Police department in Kohima also requested the members to lead the general public by following and adhering to the traffic rules and be a role model for others to follow. He also sought constructive ideas and suggestions from the members so as to work out mechanisms to ease traffic congestion in Kohima.
The Power Department is entrusted to present a PowerPoint presentation of its activities in the next DPDB meeting.
