Kohima: Illegal substance hidden in secret chamber at back rest of vehicle

The Kohima Excise has recovered 161 soap cases of heroin weighing approximately 1.6 Kg worth ₹ 9.66 crore (street value) from an Assam registered vehicle at the Khuzama Inter-State Check Gate on 29th September 2024.

Venezolu Dawhuo, Deputy Commissioner of Excise (Zonal), Kohima, informed in a press release that the personnel manning the Check Gate intercepted the vehicle at around 8:30 am and recovered the illegal substance from the secret chamber at the back rest of the vehicle.

“Accordingly the lone occupant K.H.Pavei S/o Khule of Phaibung Khullen Senapati, P.S Tadubi-Manipur was apprehended and a case has been registered under relevant section of NDPS Act 1985,” the Deputy Commissioner added.

Further, it was informed that the duty party that made the seizure was led by Kezhasolie AIE, Khesangmew AIE, Khrovotso H/c, Nganwang E/c, Rokovikho E/c, Kevibuo E/c, MhaoLotha E/c, Nyimtsemo E/c, Rose L/c.
