The Kohima Longmisa Senso Telongjem (KLST) celebrated its Golden Jubilee at Molu Ki, Kohima on 22nd February 2025 under the theme ‘Senso Tsungsu Medem’.
Additional Director, Food & Civil Supplies, Lanutoshi Jamir who was the Guest Speaker of the programme dwelt on the theme ‘Senso Tsungsu Medem’, describing it as ‘a teamwork, a coordinated effort of a group of people to strive for a common goal’.
He recalled that Longmisa village was established in the year 1509, and the period from the year 1509 to 1964, he called it the Golden Age for Longmisa Village. It was during this period, the villagers then, worked hard to earn a good name for the village by building a cordial relationship with the neighbouring villages putting an end to enmity. He also highlighted about the good coordination the villagers had, their willingness in sharing their riches and security of the village, because the village council of that time was honest in governance.
Lanutoshi Jamir, pointed out that from the year 1964 to 2025, Longmisa Village has failed to produce qualified politicians, bureaucrats and well established entrepreneurs, therefore he called upon every individuals and families to retrospect as he feel there is a lack of teamwork amongst the community. While lauding the celebration of KLST Golden Jubilee, he urged the gathering to take the initiative to transform Longmisa Village and carry forward to a new heights. He also released the Golden Jubilee Souvenir during the celebration.
One of the surviving founding members of Kohima Longmisa Senso Telongjem, TT. Imdaksashi who spoke during the celebration recalled that the Union founded by a handful of its members in 1975 faced a lot of hardships and helped one another during difficult times for unity and oneness. He said that the members of KLST today is blessed with many gazette officers, government employees in different sectors and called the union to praise God and to have visions for the future and built good teamwork.
Exhorting the Union, Chairman of Longmisa Village Council, Merensosang Jamir said instead of pointing at one’s weaknesses, we must encourage and uplift each other.
He also spoke on the importance of one’s mother tongue, its values and identity.
Short speeches were also delivered by President, Longmisa Senso Telongjem, Mokokchung, Moasashi Jamir and President, Longmisa Senso Telongjem, Dimapur, C. Pangertemjen. The welcome address was proposed by President, KLST, Arentemjen, and vote of thanks by Toshimenba.
Jubilee song was presented by the Kohima Longmisatsur Telongjem while Er. K. Wati read out the Golden Jubilee Resolution.
