The Kohima Longsa Hoho distributed tree saplings at Longsa Village in Wokha District on Sunday as part of their efforts to promote environmental conservation and beautify the village.
During the event held at Longsa Cultural Hall, Elithung Odyuo, Assistant Conservator of Forest, Wokha, emphasized the importance of planting trees and their role in protecting the environment.
Benri Ezung, Executive Secretary of Longsa Hoho, Kohima, explained the purpose of the Village Garden and tree planting, highlighting its contribution to mitigating global warming. Rev. L.K Tsanglao appealed to the villagers to take care of the planted trees in the village.
The programme was chaired by Er. Zarenthung Kikon, Chairman of Kohima Longsa Hoho. The invocation prayer was by Thungdemo Timothy Ezung, Catechist of St. Peter Church Longsa.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ponphyamo Kikon, Chairman of Longsa Village Council, and a benediction prayer by Rev. L.K.Tsanglao, Pastor of Longsa Baptist Church.
