A free health camp was conducted at the Kiusam Primary Health Centre, Kiphire by a team led by the MLA of Kohima town, Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhütso on January 13.
Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, a Senior Surgeon was accompanied by Dr Keneilhoulie Medom, Managing Director KOHIMAS hospital, Dr Lanu Mollier, Dental surgeon, Dr Moatemjen Ozukum , General surgeon along with two staff nurses and an OT technician from KOHIMAS. The team was also assisted by 13 staff from Kiusam PHC
During the health camp, 28 minor operations were performed, and a total of 159 patients, comprising 55 males and 75 females were diagnosed and treated. Ear infections, dental health issues, and lower backaches were the most common diagnosis among the patients.

The free health camp was conducted to address the local community’s needs and provide support to the Primary Health Center (PHC).
Mention may be made that the local MLA Benei L Lamthiu also extended supported towards the initiative, actively participating in the planning process.
