He said that media persons should report unbiased news without taking sides with anyone or reporting from a wrong perspective which might create chaos in a law and order situation.

Citing the example of the Manipur issue, he lauded the Nagaland media fraternity for resisting in spreading of harmful or wrong news and added, media persons should be sensible enough to desist to spread the news even if it’s the ‘truth’ but when it is harmful to the society.

On the issue of Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Ndang emphasised that UCC may not be appropriate for the Naga people and the tribals at large and mentioned that it may to do more harm than good to the people. He therefore appealed the GoI to reconsider this decision to implement the proposed UCC in the region in general and particularly in Nagaland.

Ndang also said that while celebrating with joy seeing the achievements and initiatives, it is disheartening to see that Manipur situation has gone beyond human imagination and only if the GoI comes forward and address the grievances of the people.

He also appealed to the Naga people and the Northeast region to work forward in building and bringing back peace and tranquillity in Manipur.
