Kohima Town MLA inaugurates waiting shed at Mewibogei Colony

Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for 9 Kohima Town and Chairman of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Dr. Tseilhoutuo (Ato) Rhütso, inaugurated a waiting shed at Mewibogei Colony, Ward No. 17, Kohima on January 24, 2025. The project was implemented under the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) Common Pool for 2024-25.

Speaking at the event, Dr.  Rhütso highlighted the challenges of executing developmental initiatives in Kohima, pointing out to the steep cost of land that often surpasses project budgets. He expressed heartfelt appreciation to the residents of Mewibogei Colony for their cooperation in providing land for the waiting shed, which ensured the successful completion of the project.

The MLA also assured the community of his best efforts to continue addressing their needs wherever possible.

On behalf of the residents of the Colony, Chuba Jamir, former convenor of Sanitation Committee, and Neitho, Executive member of the women’s wing, extended their gratitude to Dr. Rhütso for his unwavering commitment to the development of the colony and the welfare of its community. They noted that the waiting shed symbolizes his dedication to improving infrastructure and fostering unity in the constituency.

The inaugural function was chaired by Kongie Ozukum, Vice Chairman, Mewibogei Council, while Mar Tzudir, Treasurer, offered the dedicatory prayer.
