Konyak Union appeals Nagaland Govt to cancel deployment of extra troops to Mon

Mon: KU asks govt to withdraw personnel already deployed in Mon within 24hrs

The Konyak Union has said on Thursday that the Government of Nagaland and the Home department are sending additional security personnel to Mon district and stated that such “tyrannical instigation and attitude is creating unwanted public alert/commotion that disrupts the peaceful environment of the Land.”

KU has therefore appealed the State Government to cancel the deployment of the additional troops as well as withdraw the personnel already deployed in the district within 24hrs.

“Failing to comply, the concerned agency/Authority shall be held full responsible for any untoward situation that may arise in future,” Konyak Union stated.

The apex union of the Konyak tribe also maintained that it was trying “to settle ULB commotion peacefully within the society.”

21 individuals belonging to the NDPP and BJP have filed their nominations for the upcoming ULB election in the district. Konyak Union had given the candidates till 3:00 pm today to withdraw their candidature.
