The Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) has extended strong support to the Nagaland RMSA 2016 batch teachers in their demand for the urgent implementation of the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench order dated March 16, 2022.
In a statement, the union expressed concern that the ongoing pen-down strike by the teachers has brought academic activities in 133 Government High Schools across Nagaland to a standstill, jeopardizing the future of students. It urged the state government to take immediate and decisive action to resolve the matter.

The KSU pointed out that the RMSA 2016 batch teachers were recruited through a fair and transparent process and therefore deserved their rightful salary and service benefits from the date of appointment in 2016. The union stated that “justice delayed is justice denied” and emphasized that educators should not be made to suffer any longer.
Affirming its solidarity with the teachers, the KSU added that it would continue to support them until justice was served. The union appealed to the government to implement the High Court order in letter and spirit and restore the rights of the teachers without further delay.
