The Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) has strongly objected to the arbitrary transfer of five teachers from Noklak District as per Notification No.EDN/PLN/RATIONALISATION/2023, dated 10 February 2025, while sanctioning a mere two replacements.

In a letter to the Principal Director, Directorate of School Education, the KSU stated that the egregious decision reflects an utter disregard for the alarming shortage of educators in the district causing irreparable damage to an already fragile education system.

“Such an act constitutes a gross dereliction of duty, depriving students of their fundamental right to education and exacerbating the academic disparity in the region. Schools under Noklak district are already reeling under a severe, manpower crisis, and any further depletion of resources is absolutely intolerable,” it stated.

The KSU, therefore, demanded the immediate and unconditional revocation of the released order. “Any failure to rectify this indefensible action will be deemed an act of deliberate administrative negligence for which the responsible authorities shall bear full and absolute responsibility,” stated the KSU.
