KVK Wokha conferred Best KVK in Northeastern Region

The ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Wokha, has been conferred the title of Best KVK in the Northeastern Region by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research – National Research Centre for Banana (ICAR–NRCB), in recognition of its exemplary work and impactful contributions. The award was selected from among more than 200 nominations.

The award was presented during the 32nd Foundation Day and Kisan Mela held on August 21 at the Conference Hall of ICAR–NRCB, Tiruchirappalli.

Dr Tusar Kanti Behera, Director, ICAR–Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru, graced the occasion as the special guest.

A total of 19 farmers from Nagaland also took part in the event, joining the mela to gain insights and ideas for the upcoming banana festivals in the state. They are undergoing training in Integrated Nutrient Management, Hi-Tech Banana Cultivation Practices, Integrated Pest and Disease Management, and Food Processing.

The training programme will continue in Kerala from August 23, where the farmers will further enhance their skills and knowledge in advanced banana cultivation and value addition.
