KVSU holds consultation meeting to strengthen Govt schools in Kiphire village

The Kiphire Village Students’ Union (KVSU) organised a consultation meeting on June 12 at the Village Council Hall with the participation of the Village Council, School Management Committees (SMCs), and its officials.

During the meeting, discussions focused on several important aspects including setting proper school timings, ensuring that teachers and students spend quality time together to promote effective learning, strict compliance with school uniforms, and the need to instil a sense of responsibility in caring for school property.

It was highlighted in the meeting that under Kiphire Village, there is currently one Government Middle School (GMS) with 14 students and one Government Primary School (GPS) with 59 students.

Speaking at the programme, KVSU President Rezila Sangtam stressed the urgent need to counter the growing issue of substance abuse. She called for declaring school premises as tobacco-free zones, stating that the health and wellness of both students and teachers must be prioritized.

The meeting adopted several important resolutions aimed at improving and ensuring quality education through the joint efforts of all stakeholders and the general public.

The core aim of the meeting was to build trust of the parents and public that government schools can also do as much as a private schools in all aspects, with qualified teachers and other amenities available, which can help raised students for quality education and improve enrollment.
