In view of the recent reports concerning attempts by unidentified individuals to lure students and children, the Kohima Village Students’ Union (KVSU) has issued a public safety circular to all parents, guardians, school authorities, and community members.
The Union strongly advised the following measures to be undertaken with immediate effect to ensure safety and security of our children:
- For School Authorities:
Issue internal notices to all staff and students strictly instructing that no student shall leave the school premises with any individual who is not authorized or officially identified.
Strengthen supervision during arrival, recess and dispersal hours to ensure children remain within safe and monitored areas.
- For Parents and Guardians:
Counsel children on the dangers of engaging with strangers, regardless of how familiar or friendly they may appear.
Instruct children never to leave with anyone without prior parental consent.
Children must not be left unattended, whether at home, school or any public setting.

- For Community Members:
Maintain vigilance around school, playgrounds, and other public spaces frequented by children.
Promptly report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest law enforcement agency or village authority.
“These precautionary steps are issued in the interest of collective responsibility to protect our community. We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all,” stated the KVSU.
