KVSU organises Felicitation Programme for successful candidates in various exams

Kohima: Do not let a narrow path be the guiding factor but have a broad mind, advises Kethosituo Sekhose

The Kohima Village Students’ Union (KVSU) held its Felicitation Programme for successful candidates in various examinations on Friday at Kohima Village Council Hall. Kethosituo Sekhose, President, Kewhima Gazetted Officers’ Krotho amd Director, Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, and Keneirienuo T Zatsu Deputy Director, Industries and Commerce, GoN, graced the event as Special Guests.

In his speech, Sekhose said that life is always evolving and there is something coming after every successful exam. He said that the avenues become narrower as one grows older so one should give their best in what they do and decide their next step carefully. Highlighting the high rate of unemployment among the educated youth, he cautioned the students to choose their line of study that has broad scope.

Sekhose also stressed that one should question whether unemployment is because of education or the mentality and advised, “Do not let a narrow path be the guiding factor but have a broad mind.”

Further, pointing out that we live in a world of information and technology, the Youth Resources and Sports Director also advised parents to listen to their children on what they wish to pursue because the youth of the present generation have much more knowledge about what is happening around the world.

Keneirienuo T Zatsu, in her speech, advised students to identify their strength and pursue it. She also urged them to cultivate the virtue of perseverance and live the purpose, advising them to contribute to the community no matter how small it is.

“Every challenge one faces should be an opportunity to learn,” she added.

During the programme, the Kohima Village Students’ Union felicitated HSLC and HSSLC Toppers, Gold Medalist (Technical, Bachelors and Masters Degree), Ph.D (May 2023-April 2024), UPSC & NPSC (2023-2024), NSSB & Other Central Examinations (2023-2024) and all successful candidates of HSLC & HSSLC 2024 (CBSE & NBSE).

KVSU informed that a total of 139 students successfully passes the HSLC examination 2023, of which 31 are from Dapfütsumia Khel, 37 from Lhisemia Khel, 40 from Pfuchatsumia Khel and 31 from Tsütuonuomia Khel.

Further, 122 students have cleared HSSLC exam 2024, including 32 are from Dapfütsumia Khel, 32 from Lhisemia Khel, 32 from Pfuchatsumia Khel and 26 from Tsütuonuomia Khel.

Neiphrenuo Alemyin Isaac Solo, AIR 749, UPSC CSE 2023 delivered the achiever’s message at the felicitation programme.

Earlier, KVSU president Vilalhou Sorhie chaired the programme, Noune Whuorie presented a special number while Associate Pastor, Khedi Baptist Church, Kezhakietuo Belho blessed the programme with invocation. Information & Publicity Secretary, Keneisezo Dzüvichü pronounced the vote of thanks.
