La Ganesan appointed as Nagaland’s next Governor

New Delhi: Along with Nagaland, the President has also appointed new governors for 11 states and the Union Territory of Ladakh

The Secretariat of the President of India, on Sunday, informed the appointment of La Ganesan as Nagaland next Governor.  Ganesan is currently serving as the Governor of Manipur.

Ganesan had also held additional charge as Governor of West Bengal from 18 July 2022 to 17 November 2022. It was during this tenure that the former veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader found much fame for the wrong reason.

He was that Governor who pushed Sunil Chhetri during the presentation ceremony of 2022 Durand Cup for a better photo op.

Along with Nagaland, the President has also appointed new governors for 11 states and the Union Territory of Ladakh.

The press communique stated that the President has accepted the resignations of Bhagat Singh Koshyari as Governor of Maharashtra and Radha Krishnan Mathur as Lt. Governor of Ladakh. Ramesh Bais, Governor of Jharkhand has now been appointed as Governor of Maharashtra while Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), Governor of Arunachal Pradesh has been appointed as Lt. Governor of Ladakh.

Lt. General Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retired) will now serve as Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and C.P. Radhakrishnan as Governor of Jharkhand.

The President has also appointed  Lakshman Prasad Acharya Governor of Sikkim, Shiv Pratap Shukla as Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Gulab Chand Kataria as Governor of Assam, Justice (Retd.) S. Abdul Nazeer as Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, Governor of Andhra Pradesh appointed as Governor of Chhattisgarh, Sushri Anusuiya Uikye, Governor of Chhattisgarh appointed as Governor of Manipur, Phagu Chauhan, Governor of Bihar appointed as Governor of Meghalaya and Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Governor of Himachal Pradesh appointed as Governor of Bihar.
