Labour Commissioner informs on pay wage

In view of the forthcoming Municipal and Town Council Elections in the State, the Labour Commissioner as empowered under Section 10 (2), 11(3) of the Nagaland Shop & Establishment Act, 1986, and under Section 80(1) of the Factories Act, 1948, declare 26th June 2024, as paid holidays for all the workers engaged in Commercial and Industrial Establishments in the State of Nagaland, in order to facilitate exercise of their franchise.

Hence, all the Employers and Occupiers of the Commercial and Industrial Establishments in the State are directed to pay wage at a rate equal to the daily average of his/her total full time earning for the day for which paid leave is declared. No deduction whatsoever, shall be made from the wage of any workers falling under the specified category.
