Er. Kezhazelhou Theünuo, CEO, KSCDL was Guest of Honour at the first day of Alder Fest 2.0 t Alder College Kohima on 21 April 2023.

Alder Fest 2.0 commenced today at Alder College Campus at Sepfüzou, Kohima. The festival is being organised by the college in collaboration with Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) as part of the ‘75 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

After declaring the fest, Er. Kezhazelhou Theünuo, Chief Executive Officer, KSCDL, said that ‘educated unemployment’ is not new to Nagas and pointed that the state stood 4th in highest unemployment rate in India with 92,382 unemployed youths having registered till January 2022. The Guest of Honour also stated that the development of skill is an absolute necessity and that the high rate of unemployment despite having a good number of graduates could be due to various challenges such as lack of practical skills, dignity of labour or due to a sense of pride.

The CEO of KSCDL said that Naga youths have theoretical knowledge but no practical skills and experience and lamented about the gap between what the students study and what the ground reality is like. Theünuo challenged the students to work and develop skills and encouraged them to have dignity of labour and to be at will for any job to start a career.

Noting that it is not enough to do something just for the sake of doing, Theünuo said, “There’s nothing that can beat excellence, hard work and consistency in a competitive society”. He pointed that consistency is a factor that binds all these together and encouraged the students to strive for excellence if they do not want to be left behind.

“You might be a very capable or bright person, but it is your hard work and perseverance alone that will take you through to achieve your ambitions”, he said and added that consistency is even more important than solely relying on motivation to realise one’s goals in life.

Further, Theünuo declared that the activities of the Alder Fest 2.0 will be incorporated as part of Kohima Smart City Event which will be submitted to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and said that as part of Amrit Utsav, Kohima Smart City has been participating in various events in and around Kohima for the last four months and will continue to do so till June 2023.
