The incessant monsoon rain in Shamator District has destroyed a residential house belonging to Obed Yimkhiung, Keku Colony in Chessore Town, Noklak. In relation to the landslides, a truck traveling on NH 202 near K. Wongthu village also slid off the road due to loose soil, falling approximately 300 meters down, informed DIPR.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported in either of the incidents.

Till date the roads are completely cut off from the rest of the state. The NPWD has started operations by clearing road from Chessore town towards Shamator via Huker, Kephor and Shiponger Village.

Local authorities are working to clear the landslide and ensure the safety of residents and travellers.
