Landslide in Shishimi Village cleared after immediate intervention

A landslide which occurred on July 2 in Shishimi village was cleared following quick response and intervention from the Public Works Department (PWD) Kiphire.

The landslide triggered by heavy rainfall was the only lifeline road of Shishimi village. The Village Council chairman and elders reported the difficulties faced by the villagers, who were cut off from essential medical and daily necessities due to the village’s remote location.

However, prompt action by the Public Works Department (PWD) Kiphire, led by SDO Muwalila, and the contractor of the PMGSY road, cleared the landslide on the highway today. The successful clearance was made possible with the use of proper machinery and manpower.

The Shishimi Village Council and the Shishimi Village Students Union has expressed their gratitude to the concerned parties for their swift response to the critical situation. They also hoped that they would continue to provide aid to citizens in need during natural calamities.
