Landslides near Dikhu bridge disrupt traffic on Mokokchung-Tuensang road

Tuensang: Travellers spend night in vehicles on empty stomach

Relentless rain has triggered landslides along National Highway 202 near Dikhu bridge disrupting the vehicular movement between Tuensang and Mokokchung.

It has been reported that the region had been receiving heavy rainfall since past few days which resulted in landslides in several places. Several vehicles and passengers are stuck on both sides of the road due to the blockages.

A person who is stuck on the stretch of NH 202 told Nagaland Tribune that the landslides occurred on Tuesday around 6:00 pm.

“The travellers who were stuck on the road side from last evening had to suffered in the vehicle spending a night on empty stomach as we had nothing to eat. This morning (Wednesday), a good Samaritan gave us eggs which will help us till we reach home.”

The person also informed that they were waiting for the debris to be cleared up to proceed towards their destinations.
